Punt Free Throws — Player Targets

These players are elite across multiple categories but hurt your FT% — ideal anchors for a punt FT build. Draft them early and build around their strengths.

Building a punt strategy? Read the full Punt Builds Guide → for the complete framework before using these target lists.
1
Giannis Antetokounmpo MIL Overall #4
The definitive punt FT anchor. Elite in PTS, REB, BLK, and STL — his FT% liability disappears entirely when you punt the category. No other player unlocks this much value.
FT%: 65% Target: Rounds 1–2
2
Domantas Sabonis SAC Overall #12
Rare big who contributes in PTS, REB, AST, and chips in STL — exceptional breadth for a centre. His FT% sits around 73%, which is enough to sink your team in a balanced build but is meaningless when punting.
FT%: 73% Target: Rounds 2–3
3
Rudy Gobert MIN Overall #32
The premier rim protector in the game. Elite BLK and REB with strong FG% — exactly the profile a punt FT build stacks. His 67% FT rate is a non-issue when you've already punted the category.
FT%: 67% Target: Rounds 4–6
4
Clint Capela ATL Overall #52
One of the worst FT% rates in the league at just 57% — but pairs that with elite REB and BLK in a starting centre role. A perfect secondary anchor in a punt FT build if you've already grabbed Giannis.
FT%: 57% Target: Rounds 6–8
5
Ivica Zubac LAC Overall #60
Consistent contributor in REB, BLK, and FG% — the three categories a punt FT build needs from its centres. His role and minutes are stable, giving you reliable volume.
FT%: 67% Target: Rounds 7–9
6
Mitchell Robinson NYK Overall #68
One of the elite per-game shot blockers in the NBA with strong rebounding. His 52% FT rate is brutal in a balanced build but is the exact liability you've already priced in when punting FT.
FT%: 52% Target: Rounds 8–10
7
Daniel Gafford DAL Overall #72
High-efficiency centre with elite per-minute BLK and REB rates. His FT% around 60% is the main drag on his fantasy value — punt that category and he becomes a late-round steal.
FT%: 60% Target: Rounds 8–10
8
Andre Drummond CHI Overall #78
Among the worst FT% rates in the entire league at under 50%. His REB and BLK upside as a starter make him a deep-value target late in drafts — exclusively for punt FT rosters.
FT%: 48% Target: Rounds 9–12
9
Deandre Ayton POR Overall #58
High-volume scorer and rebounder who also contributes to FG% — a three-category anchor. His 73% FT rate makes him borderline in a standard build but fits comfortably in a punt FT strategy.
FT%: 73% Target: Rounds 7–9
10
Steven Adams MEM Overall #88
One of the most extreme FT% cases in fantasy. Sitting at 55%, he devastates balanced rosters but contributes real REB and BLK volume. Perfect late-round depth piece for punt FT builds.
FT%: 55% Target: Rounds 10–13
11
Brook Lopez MIL Overall #48
Elite rim protector who also shoots threes — a rarer profile. His 77% FT rate is a drag in balanced builds. Pairs beautifully with Giannis in a punt FT build, reinforcing BLK without cannibalising other categories.
FT%: 77% Target: Rounds 6–8
12
Nikola Vucevic CHI Overall #44
Volume scorer and rebounder with solid 3PM upside for a centre. His 72% FT rate is the reason he slips in drafts — in a punt FT build that weakness evaporates and his multi-category output shines through.
FT%: 72% Target: Rounds 5–7

Punt Field Goal % — Player Targets

These players contribute heavily across counting stats and three-pointers but drag down your FG%. Build around volume shooters and accept the FG% hit.

Building a punt strategy? Read the full Punt Builds Guide → for the complete framework before using these target lists.
1
Trae Young ATL Overall #9
One of the best PTS and AST producers in the league, with elite 3PM and FT volume. His 42% FG% is the cost — accept it and his counting stats are unmatched at his draft cost.
FG%: 42% Target: Rounds 1–2
2
Donovan Mitchell CLE Overall #11
Explosive scorer with strong STL and 3PM contributions. His 44% FG% is a known drag — but in a punt FG build you redirect that loss into dominant PTS, STL, and perimeter production.
FG%: 44% Target: Rounds 2–3
3
Damian Lillard MIL Overall #14
Elite volume scorer with top-tier 3PM and FT production. His 42% FG% has always been the reason managers hesitate — punt that category and you get one of the best pure scoring assets in the game.
FG%: 42% Target: Rounds 2–3
4
Tyler Herro MIA Overall #28
Reliable scorer with solid 3PM and FT volume in a high-usage role. His FG% sits at 44% — borderline in standard builds but fully absorbed in a punt FG strategy, revealing an elite points-per-game contributor.
FG%: 44% Target: Rounds 4–5
5
James Harden LAC Overall #24
High-volume AST and 3PM producer with elite FT rate. His 43% FG% from high volume reflects his step-back heavy game — if you've punted FG%, he's a foundational playmaker at very reasonable draft cost.
FG%: 43% Target: Rounds 3–4
6
Buddy Hield PHI Overall #48
Among the best 3PM specialists in the league. His FG% suffers from high three-point volume, but in a punt FG% build that trade-off is exactly what you want — maximum 3PM output at an affordable draft price.
FG%: 43% Target: Rounds 6–7
7
CJ McCollum NOP Overall #58
Consistent PTS and 3PM producer in a featured role. His 44% FG% keeps him off balanced rosters but makes him a solid mid-round target in a punt FG% build looking for perimeter scoring depth.
FG%: 44% Target: Rounds 7–9
8
Jordan Poole WAS Overall #62
Explosive scorer and 3PM contributor in a high-usage role on a rebuilding team. His 41% FG% tanks him in balanced builds — in a punt FG% roster he's a strong value pick with genuine ceiling upside.
FG%: 41% Target: Rounds 8–10
9
D'Angelo Russell MIN Overall #54
Solid AST and 3PM contributor who regularly scores 18–22 PPG. His 41% FG% is the headline negative — but if you've already punted that category, he's a well-rounded contributor at every other perimeter stat.
FG%: 41% Target: Rounds 7–9
10
Collin Sexton UTA Overall #72
Efficient scoring specialist with genuine FT volume — he shoots over 90% from the line. His 44% FG% is the trade-off. In a punt FG% build he's a cheap source of points and FT% support.
FG%: 44% Target: Rounds 9–11
11
Russell Westbrook UTA Overall #52
Triple-double upside with genuine AST, REB, and STL contributions — a rare multi-category profile outside of scoring. His 41% FG% depresses his ADP significantly, creating late-round value in punt FG% formats.
FG%: 41% Target: Rounds 7–10
12
Cam Thomas BKN Overall #66
One of the best young scorers in the game — high volume, strong FT rate, developing 3PM. His 43% FG% is the limiting factor on standard rosters. In a punt FG% build his ceiling is genuinely elite.
FG%: 43% Target: Rounds 8–10

Punt Turnovers — Player Targets

High-usage playmakers who rack up assists and stats but also turnovers. If you punt TO you can freely draft ball-dominant players without worrying about the category.

Building a punt strategy? Read the full Punt Builds Guide → for the complete framework before using these target lists.
1
Nikola Jokic DEN Overall #1
The greatest fantasy basketball player of the modern era — PTS, REB, AST, STL, BLK, and FG% all in one player. His 3.5 TO/game is the only downside. Punt TO and draft the best player in fantasy without reservation.
TO: 3.5/gm Target: Round 1
2
Luka Doncic LAL Overall #3
Enormous counting stats across PTS, REB, AST, and 3PM. His 4.5 TO/game is consistently one of the highest in the league — the trade-off for his ball-dominant role. In a punt TO build he's an undeniable top-3 pick.
TO: 4.5/gm Target: Round 1
3
Trae Young ATL Overall #9
The AST leader in the league most seasons. His elite playmaking unlocks massive PTS, 3PM, and FT volume — all driven by a usage rate that generates 4.0 TO/game. The textbook punt TO cornerstone.
TO: 4.0/gm Target: Rounds 1–2
4
LeBron James LAL Overall #7
All-around contributor across PTS, REB, AST, STL, and 3PM. His 3.8 TO/game reflects decades of ball-dominant play. If you've punted TO, LeBron's breadth of contributions is unmatched at any position.
TO: 3.8/gm Target: Rounds 1–2
5
Tyrese Haliburton IND Overall #12
Among the elite AST producers in the league with strong 3PM and STL contributions. His 3.2 TO/game is a fair price for his playmaking volume. In a punt TO build he's a foundational piece at a reasonable draft cost.
TO: 3.2/gm Target: Rounds 2–3
6
Ja Morant MEM Overall #15
Explosive PTS and AST producer with elite STL for a guard — a three-category driver in one player. His 3.5 TO/game is the cost of his aggressive, attack-first style. Punt TO and unlock elite production at an undervalued price.
TO: 3.5/gm Target: Rounds 2–3
7
Damian Lillard MIL Overall #14
High-volume scorer with elite AST, 3PM, and FT contributions. His 3.0 TO/game is the predictable cost of running an offence. In a punt TO build his six-category output makes him a legitimate top-10 pick.
TO: 3.0/gm Target: Rounds 2–3
8
James Harden LAC Overall #24
Elite AST and 3PM machine who also generates top-tier FT volume. His 3.7 TO/game has been a fixture throughout his career — punt it and you get a complete playmaker who upgrades almost every other category.
TO: 3.7/gm Target: Rounds 3–4
9
Kyrie Irving DAL Overall #20
Elite scorer with strong 3PM and efficient FG% — rare for a high-volume guard. His 2.8 TO/game is lower than most on this list, making him an efficient punt TO pick who doesn't over-index on the punted category.
TO: 2.8/gm Target: Rounds 3–4
10
Domantas Sabonis SAC Overall #12
The rare big who plays like a point guard — elite AST for a centre, plus REB and FG% contributions. His 3.0 TO/game comes directly from his playmaking load. In a punt TO build he's a foundational multi-category anchor.
TO: 3.0/gm Target: Rounds 2–3
11
D'Angelo Russell MIN Overall #54
Solid AST and 3PM contributor in a featured role. His 2.8 TO/game comes with his playmaking duties but isn't egregious. In a punt TO build he's good value in the middle rounds for perimeter category depth.
TO: 2.8/gm Target: Rounds 7–9
12
Russell Westbrook UTA Overall #52
Triple-double upside with one of the highest TO rates in the league at 4.0/game. His AST, REB, and STL production is genuine and real — punt TO and you get a late-round pick with multi-category ceiling that no one else will touch.
TO: 4.0/gm Target: Rounds 7–10
